Does a gaming keyboard and mouse help you play better>?

Ok, so in my house theirs this P.C just in the house and its not being used, its Dell desktop computer, tommorow im buying en internal hard drive and im putting it in the computer and im going to use it as my own gaming P.C On the other computer i was using before, i spilled a cappuchino drink on the keyboard(yea pretty stupid), so i unplugged the keyboard from the computer EMMIDIATLY so that nothing can happen to the computer(ive heard something can happen to the computer), even though the keyboard still works 100 percent good, no damages to it(it seems). So tommorow i was also planning on buying a new keyboard(maybe a mouse), i like gaming ONLINE, so can i use a regular non gaming keyboard and mouse for playing call of duty? or do i have to buy a gaming keyboard? also does a gaming keyboard and mouse help you play better?

I personally don’t see any difference with gaming keyboards and regular keyboards (other than one is shiny and lights up). They have the same buttons that do the same function. And those extreme gaming keyboards that barely resemble a keyboard looks as if it would be a pain to type on. I’d say a regular keyboard would be best for gaming when you factor in the price.

However gaming mice have a difference over regular mice. Most mice have 3 buttons, gaming mice have 5-7 buttons, sometimes more. More buttons on the mouse means less moving on the keyboard, and very well could affect your gaming. there are many internet mice that have 5 buttons that would work very well for gaming. I found for $5. Programmed the mouse to be in charge of melee hits and grenade switching on Halo which was really helpful because I could keep my hand in one place. Some of the gaming mice have really funky shapes and look (and sometimes feel) really heavy, so I’d recommend a mouse with 5 buttons. Shouldn’t be too much, and definitely cheaper than gaming mice.
