Microsoft Intellimouse?
My old Microsoft Intellimouse had problems. I couldn’t grab a file or folder and drag it to another part of the desktop. Assuming that the left-click button had worn out, I bought another Intellimouse. Now, my brand new Intellimouse has similar but different probles. I can click and drag but when I left-click on a taskbar button and nothing happens. If I right click and choose “open,” it opens the program. I have no problem closing windows but the buttons are unresponsive. I can left-click and scroll and select text. Nothing happens, however, when I click an icon. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the software. No change.
Clicking works fine when I use my corded mouse. I like the freedom of the cordless. I’m baffled why this is happening. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
Is your computer equipped with USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports? For newer devices, 2.0 is essential. Also, did you install the device drivers from the included CD?
