Does the Microsoft 5000 Laser Notebook Mouse work for a desktop?
I’ve recently bought a Microsoft 5000 Laser Notebook mouse off of Ebay without the installation CD and it will not work with my desktop PC (Vista Home Edition operating system). I plug the USB cord to the receiver in back, hit the connect button on the mouse but still nothing happens when I move the mouse itself. Because it says ‘Notebook’ on the packaging, it will not work with a desktop computer and should only be used for notebook (laptop) computers? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Try finding the product website (if i get a chance in a few min. i will) and see if you can download the software directly or have and e-mail address you can contact. i’m guessing the CD contained a separate driver that needed to be installed, once you get the proper driver it SHOULD work, i dont see why not
