My laptop crashes when i remove a usb plug?
I have a dell studio, 64-bit vista laptop. Brand new. But I have one problem, whenever I plug in a usb device, say a portable mouse, or itouch, when I unplug it, my laptop gets the blue screen of death and shuts down. I’ve tried some things, but nothing works, and this is for any, and every usb device, that is unplugged. If you know any dell or microsoft drivers to fix this, that would be helpful too.

hmm, unlike my comp, my laptop does not have safely remove usb.

I fixed it. I know what’s wrong now, this worked for me.
Basically it’s a windows update doing it. If you do this:
1. Start the system in safe mode.
2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
3. Click Uninstall a program under the Programs section.
4. In the Tasks list in the left navigation area, click View installed updates.
5. Click the entry for KB973879, and then click the Uninstall. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the uninstallation.
Note If you are prompted for confirmation or for the administrator password, click Yes to confirm or type the administrator password.
6. Restart the system when you are prompted.
It should clear it right up
